Policy Mainstreaming

The SDGs are mainstreamed in Philippine policies through its integration in the Philippine Development Plan and the corresponding sectoral plans.  There are concerted efforts to review the implementation of the SDGs, one of the major mechanisms for review is through the Voluntary National Review of the SDGs.

SDG & AMBISYON NATIN 2040

AmBisyon Natin 2040 represents the collective long-term vision and aspirations of the Filipino people for themselves and for the country up to 2040. It describes the kind of life that people want to live, and how the country will be.

THE PDP AND THE SDGS

The Philippines has integrated the SDGs in the Philippine Development Plan (PDP), 2017-2022 as well as in the various sectoral development plans in the country. The PDP is the blueprint of government where the priorities of the political leadership are translated into a policy and strategy framework and, then, into programs and projects. The PDP reflects all of the 17 SDGs.

Socioeconomic Report

The PDP is monitored and reported yearly through the Socioeconomic Report (SER). The Report presents the accomplishments of the PDP outputs and outcomes and recommend policy directions and moving forward.

Stakeholder Engagement

Systematic, quality engagement is needed to respond to the fundamental objective of the the 2030 Agenda – that no one should be left behind.

Localization

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) takes the lead in localizing the SDGs and has already conducted a series of regional and provincial workshops to strengthen the functionality of the local government units (LGUs) in increasing the awareness and support for both the AmBisyon Natin 2040 and the SDGs, and ensuring that they integrate such in their respective plans and programs.

Voluntary National Review (CALL FOR INPUTS)

The Philippines will be presenting its 2nd Voluntary National Review (VNR) on the SDGS in July 2019.

Aside from the national and local government units, the civil society organizations (CSOs), academe and the private sector are also highly encouraged to provide inputs to the Report.
